Good Karma 4-in-One Face Cream Review TBE

Sometimes when it comes to skin care, especially when you have acne prone skin, less can definitely be more. When my skin is acting up, I’ll generally scale back on the amount of product I am using until it calms down a bit and can handle more. The downside is that I feel like I am neglecting a step that my skin may need, so finding a product that multi-tasks, like this one from Good Karma Skincare, is a real plus!

I had the pleasure of using their Lux 7 Age Defying Four-in-One Face Cream and it hit all the right notes for me and my demanding skin!

Combining the best of both nature and science, Good Karma has completely simplified the beauty routine by taking FOUR products and putting them in ONE jar! Genius, right?!

This anti-oxidant rich moisturizer is designed to take the place of your day cream, serum, eye cream and night cream, and though it was kind of weird to just use one product (when you are used to using several!), I have to say that I loved the convenience of a singular product, especially on days when I was in a hurry.

But before I delve into how the product worked for me and my thoughts on it, I want to share a bit about how this ingenious product came to be…

Owner and holistic practitioner, Cynthia Ransom had a desire to create products that were convenient, affordable, luxurious, truly natural but most importantly would yield genuine results. She got her inspiration from a 68-year-old client (who happened to be a Native American Shaman) when she asked her what she used on her skin to achieve such a wrinkle-free complexion. The Shaman shared her beauty secret – a blend of seven natural oils and thus Lux 7 was born.

Using the 7 oils as the foundation of her products, along with her holistic science knowledge and experience, Cynthia worked with biochemists to perfect her nutrient dense creations as well as pioneering a new process she uses in all of her products called Bio-Fresh – a method which helps to preserve the integrity of the ingredients.

All ingredients used in Good Karma’s products are obtained from 100% natural and renewable resources, are cruelty-free and do not contain any toxic synthetic or harmful natural ingredients.

Now, on to my personal experience with the product….

First of all, this comes in 2 formulations – one for “normal-dry” skin and “normal-oily”. I chose the “normal-oily” as that would suit my skin best.

The cream comes in an airless container, which helps to protect the nutrient-dense formula from degrading from oxidation.

Besides the proprietary blend of the 7 (cold pressed, organic & unrefined) oils of Almond, Apricot, Avocado, Grapeseed, Olive, Sesame, & Vitamin E, it contains ingredients like Date Seed Extract to minimize the formation of wrinkles and protect skin from free radicals, Blue Algae Extract which helps to tighten skin, Sodium Hyaluronate to boost elasticity and hydration, and anti-aging antioxidants like CoQ10. Natural Grapefruit Peel Oil provides a light, refreshing scent.

The cream itself is light and silky and deeply hydrating. While it does go on a little “oily”, once it is absorbed, it is more matte. A little bit goes a long way too, so be careful when pressing down on the top to release product!

While I was using this (a few weeks), my skin was calm, soft and had a dewy glow. I noticed too that I didn’t break out, which always makes me happy!

Note: Their website does mention a warning that some people may go through a complexion detox when first starting to use this, especially if you have never used natural products, so if you have really sensitive skin, you may want to do a patch test or use this every other day to start.

All in all, I really liked this cream – the ingredients, the packaging (digging the whole airless container thing!), the multi-tasking benefits, the price, but most of all, I love how my skin looked while I was using this (I had to set it aside for now to test other products, but will definitely return to using it!).

One last thing I absolutely love about this brand is that they are not only a cruelty-free brand, but they give back to our animal friends through their “Beauty Feeds the Beasts” program – an initiative that provides meals for animals in shelters with every purchase of their products!
