PurPicks was titled as one of the Top 2 among 138 tech-based startups in the TiEQuest Pitch Series! (We like to call it a mini version of Dragon’s Den)
After going through a rigorous selection process which included pitching the business idea to various panels of judges 3 times, Top 5 companies were selected to participate in the final round which took place on the 4th of April 2019. The business representatives were asked to pitch their idea in front of a live audience of over 100 attendees and a panel of judges.
The selection was based on the criteria that the presentation had to feature a viable, long-term business plan for a scalable product/service in the global market.
A hearty congratulations to the entire team of:
for reaching the finals!
What is interesting to note is that four of the five companies are women-led! And all four start-ups are purpose-driven!
Behind the reviews platform, like TripAdvisor, there’s something else — we’re bringing together green beauty brands and green beauty bloggers together to move the needle towards healthier living (reach out if you’re a blogger so we can tell you about it ..).
Judges saw that we are solving a big problem – that shoppers are now looking for healthier alternatives but, as women, we are struggling to know what products would work for our unique needs and preferences….and PurPicks solves that.
Not only is it just a reviews platform, but we’re also creating a machine learning … a powerful recommendations engine so any woman – wherever in the world – any age, any ethnicity, any skin type, concerns can find the best organic/non-toxic skincare products for her needs.
“Thank you TiEQuest for giving us the opportunity to tell our PurPicks story — seeing that while we are “niche”, we are also on track to scale and have a huge impact on consumer goods.”- Jenise Lee (Founder & CEO- PurPicks)
