Lowen’s Natural Skincare – Butter Balm – All-Purpose Skin Balm
Categories: Baby, Balm, Skincare.
Brand: Lowen's Natural Skincare
Lowen’s Butter Balm is completely free of petrochemicals, artificial preservatives, colorants or scenting agents. Our Butter Balm is an excellent barrier to irritants as well as being a very effective skin conditioner which means it is great for cuticles, knuckles, heels, tattoos, rashes, chaffing and more! Basically use it on any part of your skin that is dry, cracked, and/or regularly takes a beating (like hard working hands) – it even works well on your pet’s little paws.
For babies and protecting little bums, Butter Balm is best used with every diaper change and has enough staying power for overnight use as well.
For non-diaper applications, try applying at bedtime and let your skin absorb the goodness of unrefined beeswax and essential fatty acids to help it heal while you sleep OR just use as needed and enjoy the relief!
For external use only.

The Lowen’s Butter Balm Story
This is the product that started it all…with the inspiration for it’s creation being our daughter Lowen and her persistent and severe diaper rash. Originally called Lowen Butter Bum Balm, not only did it work extremely well on her rash but people began telling us how amazing it was when used for rash, dry cracked skin (see cuticles, heels, working hands, etc.), chafing, eczema and psoriasis. We started marketing it toward all of these uses much to the delight (and relief) of our friends suffering with ongoing skin issues. We are always looking for ideas on how to re-purpose our products so please let us know if you have any new uses for us!

This balm gets a solid A+ from me. I’ve tried a few similar all-purpose balms and most have been good. However, compared to the others I found this one less greasy, quicker to absorb, and less grainy / smoother. I find some of the others need to melt a bit before you can apply them but this one goes on nicely right away. It has a long-lasting effect and has definitely softened up a persistent dry spot after a few uses. I like the subtle beeswax-meets-seed scent too. Like other Lowen’s products I’ve tried, a little goes a long way.

Found the texture very hard to rub in and was very waxy feeling, not the best of their products I have tried

To say this product is thick is an understatement – but – I guess that’s what butters are all about! Very thick and moisturizing, fragrance free. I’ve only used it a few times but it does a nice job locking in moisture.

Gotta love the balm! Between working in the garden, rock climbing, and frequent hand-washing at work (I’m a teacher,) I often have dry hands and sad cuticles. This balm soothes the dryness and helps to lock in moisture. It has a nice smooth, grease-free texture.

This is a great balm but a bit too waxy for my liking. Smells lovely. I’m sure I’d appreciate it much more in winter when my hands are chapped.

I like this balm. Used it on my dry dry hands and post burn post peeling shoulders from sunburn (so super dry skin). It goes on thick, which I like but it’s definitely not an everyday all purpose balm. But for dry chapped skin, this is great. A little goes a long way and it smells nice. A hint of honey.

This balm is THICK! I found it easy to rub in and quite smooth. A little definitely goes a long way. In terms of ‘scent’ of the ingredients it does smell a bit earthy. It’d not unpleasant at all but definitely not my favourite!

I use this to moisturize my legs when they are shown, and the glow it creates is amazing! Interesting smell, very earthy. Would recommend!

Dense stuff, smells nutty, a little greasy, but works wonderfully. Works super well in small dry areas and keeps everything moisturized for over 24 hours!

The smell is great! Spreading it on my whole body was a bit of a challenge due to its thickness. I had to spend a bit more time heating it up while rubbing it in to ease the spreading. My skin felt hydrated for a while after use.

It moisturized well, but I found it way too thick and gooey upon application. I do not enjoy the smell of this product, particularly since it takes so long to soak in. Not the best balm I’ve used.
