I tried this cream in tandem with Iremia’s Soothing Lotion. I love both but this one speaks more to me now that we are venturing towards colder days and drier indoor environments. Compared to the Soothing Lotion, this cream is denser and thicker, yet still incredibly smooth. Like its name suggests, it feels more protective, like it’s forming a barrier between you and the harsh winter winds At the same time it absorbs remarkably well. A great choice for winter. Bonus points for a barely there scent.

Beautifully rose scented this thick Protective Cream really tops off a great bed-time routine! First the Restorative Facial Oil then the Soothing Lotion and this Protective Cream locks in all that moisture. Despite it being thicker and having a heavier feel than the lotion you don’t feel greasy and I’ve experienced no blemishes despite having combination to oil skin. Loving Iremia Skincare – Highly recommend even for those with sensitivities! ♥

This cream is a lovely, thick moisturizing cream. I did find it to be a tad thick for normal day to day moisturizing. However, I use it under sunscreen when hiking outside during cold weather. I found it to be amazing at keeping my skin protected from getting dry and chapped from the cold wind.
The texture of the cream is heavy, but does sink into the skin quite well. It sits nicely under my SPF and is named appropriately, as it does protect the skin from becoming too dry.

I was given a sample of this to try and while I loved the texture of this cream, unfortunately I will not be adding it to my beauty routine. I have sensitive skin and sensitivity to smells. I thought I would use it on my hands as I have eczema that flares up now and again (even more right now with the colder weather). The texture is silky, smooth, a tad greasy, but I don’t mind that when it’s a touted as a ‘protective’ cream. However, I’m having a reaction to it and the strong floral scent gives me a headache (plus floral scents aren’t my favourite to begin with).

I have been applying this cream on my face with the Iremia Restorative Facial Oil. I love this combination for my dry skin! As the name suggests, it is a “cream” and so it is more thick in its consistency, which I don’t mind. The surprising thing is, though, that although it’s thick, it doesn’t actually feel heavy or caked-in when applied to the face. It absorbs quickly and just leaves a light sheen of moisture that lasts throughout the night or day (depending if I use it before bed or in the morning). I had received this as a sample to try and am considering changing my skincare routine to include this cream!

I absolutely adore the texture of this cream! It starts off more solid, but quickly melts into your skin (like coconut oil without feeling greasy). Using Iremia’s Restorative Facial Oil in combination with this Protective Cream has left my skin feeling nourished and hydrated in the winter!

I received three of Iremia’s products to review. I love the packaging and it came with a personalized handwritten note and very clear directions on how to use which I appreciated.
This product does have a thicker consistency, which I prefer that when it comes to protective and moisturizing creams (as opposed to lotions). This would be particularly useful for heading into winter, plus sensitive skin on hands from all the sanitizer staying safe from COVID-19.
I do have very sensitive skin and sensitivity to scents. Unfortunately I found the scent in this cream too strong and ended up with a headache. I’m sure it would be an excellent choice for people without scent sensitivities.

I received three samples of Iremia Skincare products through the cert Clean sampling program. I loved the packaging of the samples, the easy to follow directions and was blown over by the hand-written note by the bran’s founder!
The samples were – restorative facial oil, soothing cream and protective cream. Of the three I loved the facial oil the most! Never have I ever used any oils on my face. I have sensitive skin and I am sensitive to certain scents so I was hesitant but after the first use, I noticed a different.. and I let go of my initial apprehension. I used the facial oil sample five in a row with the soothing lotion. The protective cream felt a little heavier but it works extremely well for wearing under sunscreen prior to outdoor errands/walk. The protective cream is also excellent moisturizer for dry hands. I highly recommend all three products – if I had to pick one of the three, I’d likely have trouble picking one over the other!

I found d this cream very similar to the soothing cream although a bit thicker. I liked its consistency and it soaked in well. I’ve used several barrier creams but would prefer this cream as protection than barrier creams as it soaked in very well and didnt leave a greasy layer. I know cocoa butter has some sun protection properties but it would be great if this cream had a listed SPF so that I wouldn’t have to use a sunscreen as well. If I have to use a sunscreen then I’d rather just use a sunscreen that was great mosturizer for my skin too.

I tried the sample of the protective cream. I don’t have much experience with heavy creams, so I was pleasantly surprised by the smooth texture, how easily it was applied and the quick absorption. I found it to be a touch too heavy for me for indoor daily use (would be great for outdoors on brisk days!).

I really enjoy face creams, especially for my cheeks in the winter. At first I applied this to my whole face, but I have combination skin and it felt a bit heavy on the T zone and may have been clogging some pores there. So I started using it only on my cheeks which have been very dry this winter. It is thick and creamy as you’d expect, but rubs on quickly and easily. It leaves a slight shine and I find it is a small tad greasy once applied. In terms of scent, it is stronger than the facial oil, and less strong than the Iremia lotion. Even still, I find the scent of this cream a little too strong for me (given I’m used to scent free or very subtle scents)

This has become one of the only creams I really use in the winter when I get super irritated, dry skin. When my skin really needed the moisture and protection i would apply once in the morning and once in the evening. This cream worked over night and I saw results immediately.

This product is great for dry areas, especially in the winter. It’s thick and has a great soothing scent, perfect for putting on right before bed or after a shower.
